Hi all, new to the forum.
I recently bought a Yamaha 50 outboard circa 1990 and with it came an electric trim/tilt unit to replace the tilt assist unit it had. I was told it would fit and even searching the internet my unit looks the same as all the other ones fitted to 40-70 Yamahas. But when I fitted it to the mount it won’t lower all the way down. Not even close. It seems to foul somewhere and can’t see where, but it appears it too big or not suited to my outboard.
I have attached pics of the motor, unit and ID tag if that helps identify the problem.
