DP-S Oil dipstick failure

I accidentally stripped the threads on the upper bearing lid where the oil dipstick goes on my DP-S drive :mad:. Before buying a new lid, I'll try to repair with a Helicoil.
Now, does anyone know the thread size of the oil dipstick? My best guess is 1/2-13, but before buying the Helicoil kit I need to be 100% sure. I have searched the net, but no luck!

If I have to buy a new lid (VP-original)- do I have to re-shim, or can I simply replace with the new one?

Use the plug/dipstick as a sample for your Helicoil, if you are going the repair route the most important part is that the plug seals, no I don't think you have to re-shim it should be plug and play

Problem is there are no nearby stores selling HeliCoils with America std threads, so I have to order online. Thereby I need to know the actual thread size.

Anyone?
