I have a Classic 50 1988-1989
with a tilt motor problem.
Motor will run if the switch is clicked many times,very slow at first
then runs normal,till the next time it is used.
Both solenoids were replaced last year and I thought that fixed the problem.
I think the problem is the motor. Rather than just replace it I thought it might just be a dirty armature
or brushes.
Is there a way to remove just the motor without removing the whole tilt/trim unit?
Can't remove the screws on top of the motor to check the brushes.
Tried searching,no luck.
