loose ball bearings

Hi. 1997 Force 120 Getting ready for the summer I discovered that my lower end had gotten some water infiltration. So I bought a new seal kit and installed. Turns out to be not so easy. Had problems with the forward/reverse shaft and it's proper engagement. Problem solve but I have one nagging concern. There are 2 loose ball bearings came out. The diagram shows where there are suppose to be a couple ball bearings but I'm not making any sense of it. Thoughts?
 
The bearings are for the clutch dog. Should be 3 of them.
They need to be in there for proper operation.
Remove the prop shaft and re-install them.
 
They go in the nose of the shaft by the spring.
Try u-tube maybe someone put up a video??

When you re-assemble, use bearing assembly grease .
It melts right away and dissolves.
Regular grease won't .

DUH. The light bulb finally came on. Now my only concern is where did that third ball go. I'm 99% sure it's not inside. I lifted and shook the whole unit. Probed the depths with a long thin magnet. Nothing. I'm praying it just rolled away and got swept up. So I got a set on order. Thank you for the help.
