Power loss

I have a 1984 235 Johnson runs great at dock, full power idles great, however when underway more than 1/2 trottle and the engine bogs down and if u don't backoff will stall out. Does sound like its flooding out. I have changed the fuel/oil pump. Thought that the sensor wasn't reading any oil but didn't work. U can run with no problems with less than 1/2 trottle Driving me crazy any ideas :confused: thanks for any help
 
You're describing a engine with either fouled carburetors (needs cleaning and rebuilding)... OR... a engine with a timer base (under the flywheel) sticking which would have the engine running with retarded timing.
