VP AQ140 exhaust bellows question

The original (?) exhaust bellows has the flappers in it. I am going to replace the bellows and was wondering if the flappers were actually needed. I understand the reasoning behind them being there, but are they really that effective in preventing "back wash"? Thanks.

Yes the flapper is real important for extended engine life bid low on this one you may get lucky. You can allways raise the price?
