What year is my Engine?

Only a Mercruiser dealer can give you an exact date & year the engine was made if they look it up for you. Anything/year over 1998 1/2 Merc stopped publishing years as they prefer you use the serial number vs the year.

That mentioned, your year should be right around 2000 and 2001.

What is the boat year? Usually it's close to the same.
 
FWIW... My circa 2006 5.7MIE 260HP engine has the date of manufacture on the decal on the top of the flame arrestor.
