Default Minnekota PowerDrive - Universal sonar - sonar clarity issue's

A couple years ago I installed a 70# powerdrive on my crestliner and connected a Lowrance Mark 5 Pro to it. I've attempted to fine tune the Mark 5 for several summers and never been able to get rid of the surface clutter that will fill up the top half of 20 foot water column along with not see great definition when identifying fish & structure. Can anyone share about similar experiences or recommend a different brand/sonar which works great with the US2 process? I'm looking for a good clean view with great resolution and identification of what's below...... Does the built in sonar hinder the quality of what all depth finders show?

I appreciate any & all feedback. I was just hoping for a sonar that is as clean as the x-125 I've had on my console for the last 10 years.

How about this question..... Does anyone out there have a sonar connected to their Minnkota trolling motor using the built-in USII transducer? If so, what brand and how does it work for you?
