Hey guys,
I picked up a 94 or 96 (can't remember exactly) force 120hp, it's the 4 cyl. Seems to be mostly mercury parts on it. Can anyone tell me what I can expect with/from this engine. I've read a lot of negative, and a lot of positive... but I'd like some more input on them.
I got it, the jackplate, the gearcase extension ( to make it longer for pontoons etc) and a 4 blade 21p (turbo?) prop for $700, compression tested around 160 a cylinder.
I'm running it on a 84 tidecraft spitfire v15. It pushes the boat extremely well (but the 4 blade really cuts back the top end it seems)
I got it as an upgrade to a 79 140 johnson (I had this motor way too long, and it was beginning to be a money pit).
Hoping to just run this set up til next year and pick up a larger boat/motor combo (kids, and wife don't fit too well on a 14-15 footer)
So good, bad, ugly let me hear it......
