1997 Mercury Force 40 HP Acceleration problems

Engine starts great, idles well, but cuts out when given more throttle. Have replaced fuel filter and spark plugs, and installed kit in carb. Don't know where to go from here.:(:(
 
I had the same problem for months, just found out a few days ago when the mechanic dismantled the fuel pump one of the diaphragms had a hole in it which was causing my acceleration problems, stuttering at high rpms and eventually the engine dying throttled up, I have a mariner 40hp
