starting problem

I have a inboard 160hp OMC hydoswift. went to start it it crank over then suddenly all I got was click, click. the starter would only click. try to jump it derectly at the starter same thing.anyone have any ideas what I can try?

I would try cleaning the cable between the starter and the battery and the battery and ground. Also look for corrosion where the cables go into the ends. Do you have a volt meter or test light to do some other checking if that does not solve you issue?
 
How old is the battery ?? Give the starter a couple of raps with a hammer. May have a stuck brush.
