Trying to "T" in an oil prex alarm sensor 318LM

I want to add an oil pressure alarm sensor. Apparently the only way to do it is to somehow "T" it in where the sending unit for the gauge is mounted. Due to space constraints and access, It's gonna take 6 inches or so of brass fittings and tubing. Has anyone done this? Any other options? Will the pressure readings be affected by doing this?
 
I have the kit. Cole Hersee still makes it. I just have very limited space as it's a V-drive setup with the back of the engine right against the fire wall. Another issue is that the instructions state to not use thread sealant as the sensors (water temp and oil prex) are self grounding.

Ayuh,.... You can use a thread sealant Paste, just not tape,...
