Johnson 4hp Rebuild Kit, Incorrect Welch Plug?

Hi all,

I'm rebuilding the carb on a Johnson 4hp I believe its 1998 Model #J4REEA. I ordered a rebuild kit from boats.net part #0439070. I believe the welch is too small, its pretty much the same size as hole underneath it, and wont sit on the edge for me to press it in. Ill attach some pictures and Id really appreciate some advice.

Usually you get more than one in a kit. Put up a pic of the plug in the carb

There should have been two plugs in that kit. boats.net??? Better send it back to them. This is marineengine.com

I looked everything over 10 times, i only had one in the kit. here's pictures with it set in the carb

Call who you bought it from and ask them about it.

That is a 1999 model and that shows as the correct kit. Have you tried the local hardware store you may get lucky.

Looks like a standard 1/2 inch plug maybe 13mm

I plan on calling around tomorrow and see what I can't find. I found a picture of the kit and it shows only 1 Welch plug.
