Hi All,
I have a ford 1984 351w inboard with a oil fill breather cap with a 1/2 inch fitting with hose that attaches to the flame arrestor- Is this necessary? fumes or pressure in valve cover?
and I have a 1/2 inch pcv valve with hose that connects to a fitting in the intake manifold- is this necessary- options please
thank,

Its all there for a reason. Don't mess with it. All engines have what is known as blow-by of combustion gas. Remove that hose and your engine compartment will soon be a mess.
