Hi All,
Should I ground battery cable and small grounding wires to my aluminum intake manifold---concern with possible stray electrical current and electrolic corrosion?
thanks,

If the boat is in salt water all the time you'll be amazed at how fast that ally intake turns to dust. Highly recommend that you convert to closed cooling if that is the case, and use a coolant that does not attack aluminum components. If the boat is on a trailer you can avoid all this but be sure to flush with sweet water every time. If you are in fresh water then you are pretty safe. You don't need to ground the intake, the bolts that hold it down do that. Be sure that the engine is well grounded tho...

Ayuh,.... Why not bolt the battery ground cable to the back of the block, like they always are,..??

12 vdc systems do not use a Ground..... they use a Positive and a Negative.

And yes..... that aluminum intake manifold (unless bronze lined) is going to live a rather short life if Raw Water Cooled.

Best go back to cast iron, and clean/prep for a Closed Cooling System.
