honda bf8d powerstroke impeller change.

Does the oil in the lower unit need to be drained when replacing the water pump impeller? there is a drain and a oil level screws on the lower unit.

Page 81 covers the shift rod and page 82 is for the pump replacement after you remove Shift Rod Joint. Count turns as you remove (my BF-100 was 17) and you could make handy tool from coat-hanger wire. Put some dental floss or thin mono through cotter pin and clevis holes in case you drop them.

The Honda site only has the instructions for current engines.

Looks like pilotart has given you a good lead for your Bf75.
