I bought a boat about 6 weeks ago used from a dealer. It has a 50 hp Johnson, 2005, model J5OPLSOC motor. Monday I had it out for the 4th time. Ran perfectly until the lower unit basically exploded. I am having a hard time finding a used or rebuilt lower unit. It being Saturday I'll contact these folks, MarineEngine.com, on Monday. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this happen to their same model unit or know where I can get one. It has a long shaft.
