I am an new boat owner I just got a bayliner the boat was winterized the previous owner said and hasn't been started in a while the seats were damaged so bad that I could see the foam but wanting a boat I got it now after working on the boat cleaning out the motor and buying the right stuff to start it I try to start it and I don't get any pop. it will crank but I don't think I'm getting spark I have champion spark plugs that I will be getting and I will post my compression. I first thought my problem was coming from the kill switch after looking under the dash and seeing it un hooked I found 2 black wired and followed them both back to the ignition on the same point. I'm not sure what wires from the ignition go to the igniotion if anyone could help I would appreciate your time

how does the ignition work and how does the kill lanyard work I think its an issue with the wiring

According to this the kill wire is white or black/yellow stripe. To kill the motor you short the kill wire to ground. Never short the kill wire to battery pos or you will be buying new power packs. If you disconnect the kill wires at the PPs you should get spark when you turn it over.

Didnt see this one on the bottom of the list which one do you have? Your ignition switch should have two M terminals one goes to ground and the other one to the powerpacks/modules.

Disconnect the solid white wires to both CD modules and you should get spark. Make sure the wires are isolated and not touching anything wrap them with electrical tape if necessary.

When shorted to ground it kills the spark

i got a new stator how do i test to make sure it's working right i still can't get it started can you give me a phone call and walk me thru it on the phone???
