I own a mercy 50ELPTO 2006 model. Motor died last week with no spark. I have noticed burnt wires near the fuse and near the CDM unit.Cable ties are very tight. Engine still cranks however no spark. I believe this is a common problem with this motor.
The tilt still works up/down and the battery is new.
Is it likely to be a stator and what has caused the wire to short out and melt he plastic over the bullet connectors ?.
i Have been advised that the bullet connectors need to be replaced with dutch connectors to prevent overheating
ANY help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
