ZF Hurth rattling in nuetral

2002 ZF Hurth 450-A2, 2.03:1 ratio. Shifts fine, no noise in gear, but there is a distinct rattle in nuetral. Paired with a PCM 350. I googled it, looks like it could be a Damper plate.
Anybody have any experience with this problem?

Chris is right on the money, if engine is not running 100% smooth, noise will show up in tranny at idle. Bad plug wire, bad plug, etc.

Not really. The PO claims to have replaced the damper plater ( a very common cause) prior to purchase ( with pictures). But it still makes noise. After talking with many others with same tranny, this seems to be very common and is not really considered a problem. Appearently the ZF recommends using a thicker oil (10w40, or something similar) to quiet it, but it's not really an issue other than an annoyance, so I haven't done anything.

Make sure it is firing on all cylinders. One cylinder down and it will rattle.
What's the best way to make sure firing on all cylinders?
I did a compression check, it was good.
i pulled all the plugs and they all looked the same.... black, a couple where wet ( with gas I think).
i used a spark indicator light to make sure the dizzy was putting out.
