2000 Larson SEI 206 with Mercruiser 5.0L V8

Found a 2000 Larson SEI 206. Outdrive was remanufactured last summer. $3000 decent deal? Interior is in rough shape but I can work with that. Is that a decent motor?
 
While the drive MAY be OK, the engine itself can be money pit. Then again cosmetic "rough shape" may be workable, but how about dry rot in stringers and delamination in transom??? Pay for a. Purchase survey if you aren't qualified to to the necessary inspection..

Ayuh,.... At 16 years old, with a rotten interior, that hull is a prime candidate for rotten bones,....
