HARPOONMARINE

New member
I'm currently working on a mariner/Yamaha 40m 6e9 s 007824. I realize parts are few and hard to find but would like to know what models will interchange flywheel, starter as well as part numbers. I have tried searching mercury and Yamaha, not sure if have correct models. Mercury and Yamaha say the model number doesn't match anything. Please help.

On Mercury Parts lists you are looking for a model "40C".

There was two versions of the 40C - the primary difference was the inclusion of the auto-blend (in line) oil injection system, otherwise they shared parts.

The parent motor for these was the 1981-83 Yamaha model 40 FE/FM/FEML - 100% carbon copy.

Here's a link to Mercruiser parts (on-line) - https://www.mercruiserparts.com/selectSerailRange.asp?doc_nbr=40C+(TWIN+CARB)

There was tons of these models out in the market - the 40C just may have been the most popular Yamaha built Mariner of all time.

Twin City Outboards, a recycle place may have what you are after if no one else does - they just aren't "cheap" - http://twincityoutboard.com/
They are my "hail mary" for parts.
