Johnson or Evinrude 200 or 225hp

I got a 1982 Mako CC with what appears to be a 225hp Johnson. The previous owner who is one of the managers at my job swears that it is a 1995 Johnson 225hp. It has the cover of a 225 Johnson, but when I checked the plate on the trim bracket, it shows that it is a 1993 Evinrude 200hp. I brought this up to him and he still insists that it is a 225 Johnson. It has the red round plug. I also took some pics for ID purposes. maybe someone can look at them and be able to ID it for me. The engine runs great, has good compression, and low hours. I am thinking that perhaps the trim bracket was replaced to the Evinrude 200hp. However I want to know for sure what I have in case when it comes to me needing to buy parts, I get parts for the right engine year and model. The carbs housing has the number 436604 stamped on it

The plate on the trim bracket shows: model E200txetf serial number g03501082
when I look on the freeze plug it has, G3556653.

Any help will be appreciated.

Its earlier than a 1995 as it has the fixed idle jets carbs and uses 2 piece air box..The powerhead may have come off a 1995 225 but the only difference is the carbs. If this is the case it still a 200.....

Thanks for the reply. If that is the case, then which manual do you suggest I get for the outboard or what year should I say cause I know that the 200 and 225 are interchangeable?

Also, is the airbox supposed to have an air filter?
