19997 175HP Oceanrunner Prop Shaft Seal Replacement

HI,

Just wondering what needs to be removed to replace the prop shaft seals? It looks like they can be pried out with a small screw driver but not 100% sure. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I have done just that on occasion with a strong, long, thin bladed screwdriver on engines that the carrier assembly was pretty well locked in with salt corrosion. However, take extreme care that you do not scratch the propshaft in that seal area for obvious reasons.

The proper method is to remove the carrier assembly (propshaft seal and bearing housing).
