Exhaust bellows Volvo penta 270

I am about to refit a pair of stern drives with all new bellows. I am led to believe that the lower bellow as a bleed hole? Or a drain hole? Can someone tell me in which direction the hole goes please.

I am resurrecting my 1983 270d Volvo penta and noticed my bellows are all dry rot. How difficult is it to replace these and if I have a mechanic how much would it cost?
