Draining the Oil

I have a 1987 vintage Alpha One with the two separate gearboxes. I'd like to drain and refill the top gearbox but the silly thing doesn't appear to have a drain plug! (What's with that?) Other than snaking in a small hose in the Vent hole to suck out what I can, is there another method?

Cant be done unless you separate the two halfs............

It is not designed that way!!

Remove the lower DRAIN PLUG and remove the upper VENT plug and let it drain for a couple hours.

When refilling only fill from the DRAIN hole!!!!!!!!!!!

Fill until gear oil comes out of VENT hole......... Start to install vent screw and add a couple more pumps of gear oil.
Carefully install Drain screw as gear oil will leak out, depending on how fast you get the plug in will determine the amount that leaks out.........
