2003 Honda 225hp Rough Idle

ok so i replaced the spark plugs......no change. I removed the engine cowling (all) and ran the engine again. This time I was able to isolate a loud tapping noise coming from the extension case in the mid case area. This is the roughness I've been experiencing. Any suggestions?

Search back a little on here. There is a bunch of information about the mid shaft bushing issue that may be your problem.
 
lots of posts on my history on here about mid shaft bearing hope it didn't tear up shaft.. If did can send you info on a company that rebuilds gearcases half of new ones..might be easier then replacing shaft
 
The mid shaft bushing was replaced in June when the water pump was replaced. I will remove the gear case and inspect the vertical shaft, the bushing and the water tube. I'll help you informed. THANKS!
