I am a beginner mechanic and would love to know if I can fix this myself. My OMC stringer (which is attached to a 1985 Cobalt that my dad and I bought off the showroom floor when I was in high school) is clicking and reluctantly shifting into forward. By the time we get it to go forward the Rpms are high and it jets forward. Boat is normally idling at 600RPM. It has no issues going into reverse. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance
