HELLO. I had a piston come apart while under full throttle. made some noise that went away. noticed horrible performance so I compression tested the engine and found a piston had a failure. damaged the cylinder wall. i removed the head and took this picture. its only one cylinder. i have heard conflicting stories about only boring one cylinder and not the other 5. i am planning however to replace all 6 pistons and rings while i have it all apart. any information is greatly appreciated. thanks all.

You have a 2.0l motor and you need to mike the cylinders as it likely need all 6 bored .These blocks have a tendency to wear at a taper and anything over .003 needs boring. The exhaust port looks a little damaged so have bored ook it over and clean it up.

yeah I finally called the machine shop and boring all 6 is what they recommend. he did say I was up to me and that boring one may only cause a little vibration.... still going to have all 6 done as it is an older engine and could use a refresh. who know I may run faster then my top speed of 60 mph now. 87 ranger 360v 23p ss prop.

Get rid of the idle stabilizer if not all ready and set timing at 23 degree's cranking, add a 200hp divider plate and tuner. The 1 oversize would not make it vibrates...
