Hope you all have been out having fun boating this season.
I have, and last few times out I noticed a leak in the bilge. I suspect it is coming from the steer arm.
1992 OMC Cobra 4.3
I can see wet dirt just below the steer arm in the flat casting area just below it.
Seems to only leak if I have too much weight in the back, ie: people, or when I'm nosed up on a sandbar.
I have been looking at the parts breakdown and I only see a gasket over the top of the steering arm cap.
Is there suppose to be a seal somewhere associated with the top gimbal steering pivot?
