1989 Johnson 40 HP - vacuum line, bottom of intake manifold. Where does it connect?

I am converting from VRO fuel pump to non VRO. When I removed the old VRO pump and starter, I noticed an empty (no hose attached) vacuum nipple at the bottom of the intake manifold. Does anyone know where this should connect to or can it be plugged.
 
I believe it attaches to the bottom of the air breather that bolts on to the front of the carbs. Not positive about your specific motor though.
