ok so I got the manual, got the parts and I can read and understand everything about the static timing on this engine, but I am missing something, needs to be at 30 btdc, but I can only get it to adjust to down to 50, if I disconnect the adjuster bolt and manually move the points to where I can get 30 there is no way it will hook backup to the FOT position. I did set the points at .020 per the manual spec sheet. would opening them up to .040 retard there closing enough to get another 20 degrees out of It ??? any ideas.
