91 or 95 octane??

Hi. Another fuel question. I been running 91 octane fuel in my late 80s black max 75hp. A friend said i be better running 95 octane. Would that be better for the engine or 91 octane recommended? Thanls for any opinions.
 
Both are more than was ever required by the mfg (Merc) - 86 octane with no more than 10% ethanol is what the book calls for - and they warrantied the motors at least when they were new.

Outboard motors get "crappy" gas mileage - personally I won't pay the premium for premium fuel - no measurable advantage.
