Greetings folks,
Neighbor brought Mercury Tracker 40hp over that was leaking what appeared to be a milky oil/water mix from in front of the prop. Assumed it was time for lower unit seals so it was rebuilt along with water pump replacement. After completing job, found it still leaking as before rebuild. When lower unit was removed, did find two rubber seals similar to the slinger seal that goes on top of water pump broken and laying on top of lower unit. Checked compression on cylinders and all appear to be sound with no residue that appears at prop. Any ideas where to look would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Newby
