tach not working

I have a 1998 mercury 115 2stroke. My tach does not work i replaced the Regulator/Rectifier with the grey tach lead but still nothing. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also what are the voltages caming to the tach? Thank you. Brian
 
Try another tach...they don't last forever. I prefer Faria Bede tachs...they have lifetime warranties.
 
I've found (to my surprise) that my tachs will often only work with one of the two yellow wires coming from the stator. (Why? Search me.) From not working at all to just fine by switching to the other yellow wire.
