Hello All,
I'm new to the board AND to boating! Just recently purchased a 1994 Bayliner 17' with original 120hp mercruiser outboard. It had been sitting for about a year, but started right up on a hose. First time out it started right up and ran great. Next time out it seemed to have less power, but still ran OK. On way in, noticed when I put it in neutral, it would idle, but as soon as I went into low reverse or low forward it would stall. Next time out (last weekend) it was really tough to start and it kept stalling in idle and the few times it would idle, I had to skip "low" forward or reverse and quickly throw it into a faster forward/reverse. Once we got going I had the throttle all the way open and the boat barely got up on plane and ran very slow. I am at a loss and wondering if anyone has ideas. May just winterize and take it to someone next year to fix, but didn't know if anyone was familiar with these issues. Thanks for any help!
