Using different spark plugs

In order to test whether the engine would start at all, I replaced the spark plugs and we had already broken one of the old ones, but I could not find the exact type so I used an approximation, these ones are slightly shorter by about 5mm. Resistance wise they are around 5K as the old ones. Being shorter I reasoned that they would not be in danger of hitting the pistons. Worst that can happpen is they do not stick out far enough and may not fire well?

Any thoughts on this?

2X on that...

check the engine maker's recommendation for starters...then check the plug makers application guide....technology evolves and sometimes things change.
