Remplacing 1989 85hp force.

I bought a 1998 90hp Force, which will be installed in a Bayliner currently with a 1989 85hp Force. Will I need any adapters for the wiring, since i dont have gear box for the 1998 90hp?
 
The wiring can be adapted.
You'll need wire connectors.
The shifter.
The one you need is a Mercury.
The Force won't work.
If there is a tach it won't work either.
The Merc needs a 12pole
The Force is a 20 pole.
If it works??? sell it as a lot of guys need them.

Make sure the shaft is the same length.
They made a 20in and a 25in Force.
The Merc came in 20 and 25in.
