Starter sparks upon start up

The starter on my 360 sparks at the nut were the positive battery cable connects when starting the engine. It also turns slower than that on the port engine when engine is cold. After engine warms it turns at normal speed. Is the starter going bad or what?

Obviously this needs to be corrected immediately........ and for the following reasons:

..... to avoid an explosion.

..... to avoid personal injury or death.

..... to avoid giving your insurance company and easy way out of a claim....... now that you've made this info public.
