Removing prop on 1960 Johnson 5hp sea horse.

I have never owned a boat motor before and don't have a manual yet. Someone please help? How do you get the cone cap off? I want to check out prop fittings.
 
I believe that has a rubber cap on the prop. Use a screwdriver or other suitable tool to pop it off. Try not to bugger it up. They are no longer available from BRP. www.nymarine.ca is making reproductions though.
