" idle speed on my 115hp will not go below 1000 rpm. back off the idle speed adjuster with minimal effect. also made sure that idle stop is rested against engine (tighten throttle cable). however, the prop is off. does it make that much difference with the prop off? thanks

T = trim & tilt - Electric Start
L = 20" shaft length
CI = 1981 year built

If it was an 1986 it would be CD instead of CI.

"Ed.... On a flushette, a 20" shaft 115hp V/4 would want to have a idle rpm of 1000 rpm. A 25" shaft would want to be set at 1200 rpm.

Regardless of the above, it should be possible to lower the rpm if you desired to do so for some reason. I'd suspect that the cam (scribe mark to center of carb roller) is possibly set slightly wrong and is holding the carb throttle plate ever so slightly open.... or the linkage between the carbs is improperly adjusted which would cause the throttle plate of one carb to be opened slightly. Let us know what you find Ed.
