Compatible to my Chevy omc 350

If I end up swapping out my 350 omc long block engine, is there another engine I can just drop in? I have a 84 sea ray and its my first boat.
 
Hey they've been throwing Russian made diesel tractor engines in old cars in Cuba for decades. You can put whatever you want in there.
However, a proper remanufactured marine engine is only about 1800 bux, so unless your wife decides she'd rather have a new refrigerator than a working boat, it's a no brainer.
