Setting spark timing

I have a 1995 25 hp 4 stroke outboard. The stator is dead so I will be replacing it. I've been told I need to adjust the timing when I do this job. How do I set timing on a manual start engine such as this?
 
Cam Position Sensor. Sorry. Any how to on how to measure and adjust? I wouldn't think this would be disturbed with a stator replacement would you? Motor was running great before stator shorted.
 
The crank position sensor is just and adjustment to/from the flywheel so it shouldn't impact timing. Looks like I got bad info from where I bought the stator. Info was probably right for a non ECM motor I suppose which likely most 25 hp motors are.
