mercury 2.2hp ignition coil. Part # 95242T. - 95242, question.

Hi, i'm rebuilding an old outboard, the spark plug wire is beaten real bad, but to replace it i need to change the whole ignition coil. the part is not being made, and i can't find it in Australian parts shops. I was wondering if anyone knew whether I can use a later model ignition coil, on this outboard, which might be easier to find second hand?

You may find that this motor was not made by Mercury , only sold by them.----------You might want to try at a Yamaha, Nissan , Tohatsu, Johnson , Evinrude dealer to find this part.---All of them marketed this motor I believe.
