im scratching my head at night about this thing. my friend just bought an 86 bayliner capri with a force 50. he got it after itd been sitting for 3 years, but only paid $600 for it, so it was impossible to pass up. the issues; it will noy gain rpm. i checked the timing, but cant get it to change for the better. we went out and after getting out of the harbor, he put it to full throttle but it didnt pick up at all. my phone said we were doing 5.6mph, but when i pulled the cover and manually turned the throttle open with the boat in nuetral it screamed. when i tried to adjust the timing, i did it at WOT with the plugs out and grounded with jumpers. but it was like 30 degrees to the (-) side. i know automotive but not boats.
