I have a 1986 40 hp Evinrude and would like to get rid of the vro system and put a regular fuel pump on due to the cost of replacing the oil tank that is cracked and the vro pump that is leaking fuel . Can anyone help me with this procedure and what would be the part number for the fuel pump.
 
Look for the pump off an 83 model of your motor.--------Or a later 48 hp model.-------The pump will be a 2 port pump as it mounts directly to the pulse port.------Then plug the port where VRO gets the pulse and rearrange the hoses.
