Immediate help required please

I'm currently out on my boat fitted with a D3 130 cruising alone ok then cut out. Found the engine is not getting fuel but found that a s long as someone Is constantly priming with the pump I can get 1200 revs but will not run on its own without priming

?????

If you are out there alone, who's doing the priming and who's operating the key switch? ;)
