How to remove birds nest from 2009 OptiMax 150 cowl

Pretty much as the title says. I have a bird nest in both the left and right intake on top of the cowl. I removed the cowl and can see the nest material and removed as much as I can but there is still a lot in there that cannot be reached. The rest of the nest is sandwiched between the cowl and an inner plastic liner but I can't see how to remove the liner. It looks like it would have to be cut out and re-bonded. That would be sucky. Any ideas?
 
get an electricians fish tape make a small hook and fish it out if you can. Otherwise take a shop vac and tape a 1/2" rubber hose to it and try and suck it out
 
One of those pressure washing units or at the carwash will flush this stuff out.-------Need to get it out or on many motors this stuff could get stuck in a reed valve and change the way the motor runs !
