I'm using a Mercury 8M0059686 binnacle control on
my skiff. I just installed it, using the proper cables and
reducer box, if that's the correct name.
This is a single handle control, in which you rotate the
handle forward and it shifts the motor into forward,
then further rotation engages the throttle.
Shouldn't this also be the same for reverse?
I can shift into reverse, but there's no throttle. It seems
to lock up. I seem to be stuck at idle.
If I push the 'throttle only' button, I get throttle
response in both forward and reverse.
I'm at a loss ... any ideas?
