Could use some ideas about what to check next on my 40 HP. When problem 1st started I would be running at full speed, no issues, and them all of a sudden the motor would go to what I would call a fast idle. At first the problem could be cleared simply by simply switching the key switch to off, and away you would go for the next 5, 15, 30 minutes before the problem would resurface. I have changed the ignition coils, and the CDI unit, no improvement. I do have fire on all three cylinders. This model year does not have an overheat switch or buzzer. Now I can't get it to come out of the fast idle. What are the symptoms of a bad magneto?
